Emptiness

corner-christmas-tree I look in the corner where our Christmas tree stood for the past month and a half and I see emptiness.  The little corner that once was so full now seems to shout out for something to fill it.

As I pondered that image of emptiness I felt how someone’s life without Jesus Christ must feel.  Empty.  Barren. Hollow.  Hopeless.  Purposeless.  They may or may not even recognize emptiness in their hearts but it’s there.  And God sees the emptiness of their life without Christ just as I can see the emptiness of the corner without the Christmas tree.  God yearns to fill that emptiness, that void that exists apart from Him.

Paul says in Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”  With God, through Jesus Christ, there is joy, peace, and hope.  Conversely without Him there is grief, disharmony, and hopelessness.

Our (Dana & Chris) hearts long to share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who are empty.  And we desire to witness the joy of people’s experience on short-term mission trips as they share the good news of Jesus with people who are empty.   There is an unexplainable joy in being obedient to the great commission.  God may even allow you the reward of witnessing emptiness in people being replaced by fullness of faith, joy, peace, and hope.

We are building a team of partners.  We need partners who will commit to support us monthly, quarterly, or annually with the resources God has provided them to steward.  We need partners who will commit to pray daily for us and for the work.  We need church partners who will send short-term teams to walk in obedience to the great commission in Ghana.  We would be honored to partner with YOU!
