The story of the Chilean Miners has captivated the world. As I reflected on their story I was struck by the similarities to the message of the Gospel. The miners descended into the pit without any thought they needed to be rescued. But suddenly, they became very aware of their condition as the weight of the rocks came crashing down. They were trapped with no way out. They were deep in the “pit” without any hope of rescue. But then there was a glimmer of hope. A camera poked through revealing someone up above had seen their despair. Multiple ways of rescue seemed possible (three separate shafts being drilled) but ultimately there was only one…only one way out of the pit…only one way to be rescued. In the Bible, John 14:6 says
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus is the one way out of the pit. He’s the ONLY hope for rescue. Have you trusted Him for your own rescue?
We are moving to Ghana to share the rescue message with people trapped in the pit and separated from God. We need people who have been rescued to consider helping us on this rescue mission. If you’ve been rescued, would you pray about supporting the rescue mission through prayer and/or financial support?
